MY TECH STORY

I started young. Very young.

Computers were an enormous part of my childhood throughout the 80’s and 90’s, right up to starting my professional career.

“Press play on tape.”

STARTING OUT

I was lucky to have grown up in a household with multiple computers, in a time where it wasn’t the norm like it is today.

From loading games on cassette for my C64 to copying code from books that my father gave me at a very early age. This early exposure is what sparked my career, with an unparalleled technical and creative combination.

“How does this seemingly incomprehensible wall of text create graphics and sound on the screen?”

GETTING PAID FOR DOING MY HOBBY

Starting out in a small web design company, I was getting paid to do exactly what I would do for fun, and it was easier for me to continue to learn new skills and technologies, because I actually had a purpose; I had clients.

CREATIVE TECHNOLOGY

Being a creative person, the pure day to day software development work I was doing for the clients at that time, started to feel too restricted.

I joined a small agency to build some mobile applications for the iPhone, before heading to a much larger agency. It was here that my creative technology path would unravel.

“An idea is just an idea until you know how to make it a reality.”

BRIDGING THE GAP

Managing development teams and working closely with the art side of the work, it was clear there was a huge gap that needed to be bridged.

Tech and art, with the right guidance, leads to innovative and exciting creations that challenge traditional notions of creativity. I bring together these seemingly disparate fields to push boundaries and create a more dynamic landscape.

PROBLEMS & SOLUTIONS

One of my biggest selling points is finding and creating solutions to problems. Being given a problem to solve is what keeps me going – an idea is just an idea until you know how to make it a reality, and that’s where I shine.
