EARLY GAMING

Commodore 64 and ZX Spectrum era, leading on to modern day gaming.

Console, PC, board games – I’ll play them all.

“I’ve been gaming since forever.

Loading cassettes on my C64, at probably around 4 years old.”

I’ve been a gamer since I can remember. My father introduced me to games on an old Amstrad with a green monochrome monitor. I was later given a Commodore 64, while my younger brother had an Amstrad 464+. The joys of our father bringing home the latest magazine with attached cassette demoing new games, and providing full games for others.

(Fist bump if you remember ‘Commodore Format’ and/or ‘Zapp’ magazines)

“I used to copy code from the books my father gave me, and I believe that this ignited my passion for technology, specifically software development.”

MAKING MY OWN GAMES

For as long as I can remember, I wanted to write games. I used to use the text adventure toolkits to create adventure games to share with my friends.

When GUI operating systems became a thing, I learnt to use other tools, and gradually progressed to playing around with Direct X, SDL, Unity, Unreal Engine, Phaser.io, and other tools.

I’ve been lucky to have had the opportunity to write several small games for clients.

“I believe that games can benefit players in every day life, by testing and improving on thinking, hand eye coordination, and other essential skills.

So no need for excuses – go play!”

STREAMING & YOUTUBE

I will forever enjoy playing games. You can catch me occasionally streaming on Twitch.tv, and watch my ’20 Minute Screen Time’ episodes on YouTube!
